Howdy! Getting ready for a session takes a lot of work. Whether it's a family session or a newborn session, each one takes a lot of prepping. Every one of my sessions include my time, talent, a pre-session consultation and an in person ordering session.
What is a pre-session consultation you ask? Well it's where talk about your expectations, wardrobe, who's in the portraits, if there's going to be any props, is there a theme, so on and so on. From there, I take what we talked about, and start preparing.
One of the biggest things to do beforehand is to research and visit locations. This takes a lot of time and driving around to make sure we have the perfect spot!
When it's just a couple days before our session, I gather any props and all my camera equipment. I'll also confirm with my clients all the details of our session.
The day before a session, I charge all my batteries and double check that I have everything needed.
Now, it's time to shoot!!
Many people don't understand how much goes into a session. But when your clients LOVE your images and are so happy to see those beautiful sunset portraits that they'll have for a lifetime, well it makes it soooo worth it.
